Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Learning outcomes
Knowledge of the history of cinema and the method of film analysis. The student will have to demonstrate not only historical and theoretical knowledge, but also the ability to process this knowledge in a well-written and reasoned synthesis.
Program
The course will be divided into two parts: the first will be dedicated to a general introduction to the history of cinema and cinematic language, while in the second the analysis will focus on the season of modernity (1945-1975), with particular attention to the relationship between the director and the actor.The course aims to address the most important moments, phenomena and currents in the history of cinema from its origins to the present day. In particular, the course will focuses on the authors, theorists and films that have contributed not only to the development of cinematographic language, but also to the formation of the imagination of men and women of the twentieth century will be analyzed.

Examination Methods
Written exam: three open questions. The student must demonstrate mastery of the elements of film language, knowledge of the main junctions of film history and the ability to analyze the film texts in the program.
