Learning outcomes

LEARNING GOALS
- increase knowledge and skills on Cultural Heritage with specific reference to Unesco World Heritage
- improve theoretical and practical knowledge on dealing with protection and management of the Unesco Heritage problems
- learn to use authentic sources research tools to prevent the wrong or approximate disclosure of Unesco assets

PROGRAM CONTENTS
- Unesco and international Heritage protection: cultural and natural Heritage; tangible and intangible Heritage
- The Unesco World Heritage List from 1978 to the present day; the Global Strategy for a representative, balanced and credible List
- Types of selectable / selected properties; cultural and economic relevance of recognition; the Outstanding Universal Value
- The nomination process: technical dossiers and political interferences
- The World Heritage in Danger
- Management plans and monitoring systems
- Unesco Italian Heritage and conservation challenges
- Case studies: Nubian Monuments from Abu Simbel to Philae; Dresden Elbe Valley; The City of Verona; the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene; the fossil sites of the Alpone Valley

Some lessons will be held at the Bastion of Maddalene, seat of the Documentation Center “Verona Fortified City Unesco World Heritage”, with guided tour
