Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes
The aim is to give basic knowledge of human physiology (general and nervous system physiology), as well as general psychology. GENERAL PHYSIOLOGY Know organs functions of the human body based on cells physiology that form the organs, the inte-gration among organs which form the cardiovascular, pulmonary, excretory, digestive systems and main mechanisms of regulation (nervous and humoral) of organs and systems function. PHYSIOLGY OF NERVOUS SYSTEM Know the basic knowledge of the nervous system anatomy, the excitability mechanism of nervous cells and the synaptic transmission, sensory nervous system (somaesthetic and pain, chemical senses, sight, hearing and balance), integrate the knowledge of signals mechanism and nervous regulation with the endocrine mechanism. PSYCHOLOGY Know the theoretical foundation of cognitive abilities to explain the mechanism through which hu-mans can adapt and interact to the external world.

The first part of the course will consider the anatomy of the nervous system, the properties of neural cells and the mechanisms underlying neural signaling. The second part will take into consideration the different sensory systems underlying perception. - Membrane potential and neural signaling - Neutotransmitters and neuromodulators - Organization of the nervous system - Visual system - Auditory system - Somatosensory system - Perception of thermal stimulation and pain - Vestibular system - Chemical systems: taste and olfaction

Oral examination. The final mark will be expressed in 30 point scale and will be averaged with the results of the other teachings.

MM: FISIOLOGIA DEL SISTEMA NERVOSO
------------------------
There will be an oral examination to assess the proficiency acquired with respect to the topics in the course programme. The evaluation will take into consideration the skill in expressing the knowledge acquired with properties of language, as well as the logical ability and critical reasoning applied to the described physiological phenomena. The partial vote relative to this module will be communicated in form of an evaluation according to the following classification: Poor, Sufficient, Fair, Good, Very good, Optimum, Excellent.
