Physiology (2021/2022)
The teaching is organized as follows:
Learning outcomes
The aim is to give basic knowledge of human physiology (general and nervous system physiology), as well as general psychology. GENERAL PHYSIOLOGY Know organs functions of the human body based on cells physiology that form the organs, the inte-gration among organs which form the cardiovascular, pulmonary, excretory, digestive systems and main mechanisms of regulation (nervous and humoral) of organs and systems function. PHYSIOLGY OF NERVOUS SYSTEM Know the basic knowledge of the nervous system anatomy, the excitability mechanism of nervous cells and the synaptic transmission, sensory nervous system (somaesthetic and pain, chemical senses, sight, hearing and balance), integrate the knowledge of signals mechanism and nervous regulation with the endocrine mechanism. PSYCHOLOGY Know the theoretical foundation of cognitive abilities to explain the mechanism through which hu-mans can adapt and interact to the external world.

There will be an oral examination to assess the proficiency acquired with respect to the topics in the course programme. The evaluation will take into consideration the skill in expressing the knowledge acquired with properties of language, as well as the logical ability and critical reasoning applied to the described physiological phenomena. The partial vote relative to this module will be communicated in form of an evaluation according to the following classification: Poor, Sufficient, Fair, Good, Very good, Optimum, Excellent.
