Learning outcomes

The workshop aims to provide students with basic skills to correctly set up and execute the archaeological finds documentation for study and communication purposes.

Program

The program includes a theoretical and methodological introduction, focusing in particular on:
- aims of the documentation of archaeological finds;
- the archaeological drawing: theoretical principles, conventional rules and practices for the graphic restitution of materials;
- the digitalization of the paper drawing and the preparation of the illustrated plates;
- the photographic documentation of the finds;
- the final edition: comparing strategies.
Ample space will be given to practical exercises on selected finds from archaeological excavations.

Examination Methods

The final test will be practical. The students will be asked to produce in autonomy the graphic and photographic documentation related to one or more finds, according to the methodologies learned during the workshop.
It is also required active and constant participation in at least 80% of the meetings.

Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must follow the instructions given HERE
