Knowledge and understanding Module1: Cultural mediation in educational services 1. To know and understand the main models of encounter with each other, matured at the rise of the "Modern Age" in relation to the conquest of continents and the structuring of a "we European". 2. To know the contents of the main theories of the "pedagogies of the South" of the world and understand their universal value. 3. To know and understand the approach of the pedagogy of the meeting. 4. To know and understand the main theories that guide cultural mediation in educational services. Module 2: Cultural mediation laboratory in educational services 1. To know the methods that characterize cultural mediation in educational services and understand the circularity between theory-method-practice. Applying knowledge and understanding Module1: Cultural mediation in educational services 1. Be able to situate one's own pedagogical knowledge to interact constructively with educational models from other languages, religions and realities brought about by migration. 2. Knowing how to use the theories and methods of cultural mediation to build educational contexts that realize a pedagogy of the encounter. 3. Knowing how to read the dangers of racialization within educational discourse / planning and be able to reformulate its actions. Module 2: Laboratorio di mediazione culturale nei servizi educativi 1. To practice in applying the theories of pedagogy of the meeting and the methods of cultural mediation in the educational accompaniment of people and families.

Program

The course deals with the theme of the pedagogy of encounter in the different areas of educational work in the community.
What knowledge is needed to educate one's gaze to the in-counter? How to build micro-communities in the territory and in educational services? We will meet experts from the socio-cultural sector and discuss their experience. One of the main aims is to learn the in-contro, and to identify how to move away from the vision of 'problems' and instead understand the needs of all the people involved in the educational relationship.
We will study decolonial thinking and the practice of cultural mediation as one of the possible ways in the realities of social educational services.

DIDACTIC METHODS
The training is carried out in an active, reflective and compositional way.
The didactics requires the presence, in case it is not possible, meetings will be held in streaming; the critical exposition of some parts of the text 1 will be followed by exercises of critical reading and exposition of reflective texts in small groups.
During the course of the course, students will experiment with writing a diary as a tool for reflection and analysis of their personal journey. Parts of it will be shared with the teacher and the students.
The three books of Achebe will be commented on during the lessons through group work, thematic cards and expositions so that the students can get to know the complete trilogy.
For non-attending students, 2 streaming connections will be offered in the evenings and at weekends (dates will be provided at the beginning of the course, through the moodle platform).

The assessment of the test is based on the 0-30 scale.
The criteria for the evaluation of the oral exam are:
- personal reworking of contents in the relationship between theory and practice;
- mastery of the specific language of the discipline;
- argumentative ability.

ERASMUS students are asked to contact the teacher at the beginning of the courses to agree on texts and assessment tests together.
