Learning objectives
The clinical simulation has the purpose to let the students learn some organizational, technical-practical and relational skills in safe setting. Moreover clinical simulation is aiming at develop in the student the problem solving ability using case method and role-playing . Using clinical simulation may reduce the emotional impact in dealing with patents’ real situation experienced by the nursing students in clinical setting. Also, the clinical simulation offers to the students the opportunity to train and apply theoretical principles to clinical practice. The clinical simulation activity happens in equipped settings, where a tutor or an expert nurse guides a small group of students.
Prerequisites and basic notions

Program
Prepare the patient for the administration of EN, carrying out safety checks on the device (correct positioning and fixing of the tube, patency of the tube, presence of gastric stagnation) and on the patient (positioning of the patient semi-Fowler at least 30°-40°)
Prepare the EN correctly (respecting the principles of asepsis), administer the EN guaranteeing safety (setting the correct administration speed) and setting the monitoring (gastric stagnation control timing)
Carry out the dressing of the tracheostomy, correctly preparing the necessary material, correctly positioning the patient (semi-sitting position), carrying out the periprocedural safety checks (skin check, fixation, monitoring of ventilatory status) and carrying out endotracheal aspiration respecting the principles of asepsis and the correct timing.
Conduct an informational interview with the caregiver of the patient with a PEG and tracheostomy, designing materials, methods, contents and timing of the interview
