Learning objectives
The teaching module aims to provide the student with the main principles of chemistry of the living matter, the biological processes at the molecular level, the structure, properties and functionalities of biomolecules and to deepen elements of bacteriology and virology.
The purpose of this teaching module is to provide the student with the knowledge and understanding of:
- Physiological and pathological processes related to the state of health and disease of individuals at different ages of life.
- Morphology, structure and bacterial cell functioning, composition and architecture of bacteria and virus particles, features of the main bacteria and viruses.
- Direct and indirect microbiological diagnosis of viral and bacterial infections, collection and storage of samples for microbiological investigations.
- Identify the features of microorganisms and the most important analytical tools used to identify their presence in environmental and biological matrices.
- Identify the anatomical structure of body districts (organs, bones, muscles, joints, vessels, nerves) that represent the main targets of occupational and environmental risk factors.
- Identify the major patterns of functioning of body districts (organs, bones, muscles, joints, vessels, nerves) that represent the main targets of occupational and environmental risk factors..

Criteria for the composition of the final grade
Since all four teaching modules have the same specific weight (2 CFU), the final vote will be the arithmetic mean of the marks resulting in the individual modules.
