Learning objectives
Within the framework of educational objectives of the Master's Degree Course in History of Arts, the course of History of Visual Arts in the Contemporary Age contributes to the formation of historical and critical knowledge, as well as the technical and methodological skills of the student towards the problems typical of the professional artistic fields (in general) and of the contemporary artistic sector (specifically). The course aims to integrate and consolidate in the student the knowledge of the main historical and critical points of the artistic development of the contemporary age, with particular reference to the period after the 1950s and to the international and cultural relations between the various and several phenomena. The educational path includes a constant comparison between the theories and methodologies applied to the construction of critical thought and discourse, as well as to curatorial practices, in order to convey to the student those interpretative and decision-making skills necessary for the analysis of contemporary contexts and phenomena. In particular, the student will have to develop the ability to critically analyze one or more works of contemporary art from both a formal, historical and cultural perspective, activating links with other works or other situations, identifying one or more plausible historical genealogies. He will also have to prove that he has acquired technical language properties for the aforementioned analysis.
