Learning objectives
-ELECTRONICS AND MRI SCANNER: In the first instance the student will be educated on the theoretical and technical foundations of Magnetic Resonance Imaging. The student will have to acquire an understanding of the physics underlying MRI hardware components and how their electronics work and their technological evolution.
Prerequisites and basic notions
-ELECTRONICS AND MRI SCANNER: Medium level knowledge of Physics.
Program
-Electronics and MRI scanners: The course aims to provide the student with the theoretical and technical foundations of magnetic resonance imaging, in order to be autonomous in the approach to the instrumentation and to have the skills through the study of international scientific literature to understand the improvements in technological evolution of the various components. To this end, the course is divided as follows: - Fundamentals of Physics necessary for the treatment - Magnets (differences between different types) - helium compressor - cooling systems for MRI - coils - signal acquisition system. Application of the knowledge acquired to understand how MRI works. With the theoretical-methodological background acquired previously in the course, the student will be guided in the in-depth study of some MRI models in order to understand their differences.
Didactic methods
-Electronics and MRI scanners: Frontal lesson on all the topics on the program, with teaching material in digital format (Powerpoint presentation), which includes examples of clinical applications. The lessons in digital format will be delivered to students at the end of the lesson cycle.
Learning assessment procedures
-Electronics and MRI scanners: Test simulations at the end of the lessons.
Evaluation criteria
-ELECTRONICS AND MRI SCANNER: Score expressed in thirtieths.
