Learning objectives

The course aims to provide adequate knowledge about the legal issues concerning the widespread phenomenon of tourist travel, as well as in relation to the management of policies for the valorization of territorial heritage.

Prerequisites and basic notions

The course aims to provide students with knowledge of the principles and rules that characterize the institutions of public law and private law in the field of tourism, as well as knowledge of the legal institutions contained in national, European and international sources, with particular attention to their practical application. Specifically, the first part of the course aims to analyze the public aspects of the subject with reference to the constitutional principles that divide the regulatory competences in the matter between the State and the Regions, and to the administrative aspects regarding the promotion, information and tourist reception. The second part of the course, instead, will focus on private aspects, including reservations and the main contracts used in the tourism sector (transport contracts, nautical pleasure, hospitality and organized tourism contracts). Finally, the issues of the protection of the rights of the tourist, the responsibility of the various subjects involved in the organization of tourist activities and the alternative methods of dispute resolution will be addressed.
