Learning outcomes
The course is considered the natural development of Criminal Law - General Part . The aim of the course is to lead the student to the technical interpretation and implementation of the criminal offences of the special part, also the light of their systematic outline, constitutional principles and supranational sources. Students will receive the theoretical and pratical knowledge in order to understand and analyse case studies, developing the capacity in using the specific technical-legal language and the most appropriate legal arguments.
Program
The course is considered the natural development of Criminal Law - General Part . PROGRAM
The course is divided into two parts.
Part I
Criminal Offences against life and individual persons (artt. form 575 to 593 c.p.), discrimination (artt. 604 bis and 604 ter c.p.); personal freedom (artt. from 605 to 609-undicies c.p.), against moral freedom (art. 610, 612 and 612-bis c.p.)
Part II
A) Criminal offences against: Public Administration: definition of public official (artt. from 357 to 360 c.p.), public property, functional duties (artt. from 314 to 335-bis c.p.), public administration committed by private persons (artt. 336, 337, 340, 341-bis, 346, 346-bis, 348, from 353 to 356, 393-bis c.p).
B) Criminal offences against Property (artt. from 624 to 630; artt. 635, 638, 640, 640-bis, 641, 642, 643, 644, 644-bis, 644-ter, 646, 648, 648-bis, 648-ter, 648-ter.1, 648-quater, 649 c.p.).
C) Criminal corporate liability.
TEACHING METHODS
Students attending classes:
traditional lectures and workshop with use of slides and/or video, as well as group discussions and analysis of domestic and european cases, so as to instruct students on how the knowledge acquired through the course can be applied in individual case studies.
Students may write a paper on specific topics, which will be evaluated and will replace part of the final exam.
Students not attending classess:
individual study of the parts of the book indicated in “Reference books”.
Erasmus Students:
Erasmus students must fix an appointment with the Professor in order to select an individual program, taking into consideration also the State of origin. Students may write a paper on specific topics in comparative perspective, which will be evaluated and will replace part of the final exam.
MATERIALS
All students may use the online course (didattica online), which will contain the materials (case studies, judgements or specific scientific works).
The book of the course is indicated in “Reference books”.

Office hours are published on the personal webpage. For special reasons students may ask to fix an appointment at different time and also in zoom.

Examination Methods
The exam is oral and has the following goals, in order to verify:
level and depth of study and understanding;
language properties;
capacity to connect systematically the understanding;
analitycal and arguing ability.
Grades are awarded on a scale from 18 to 30, where 30 is the highest grade and 18 is the lowest grade to pass the exam.
The exam consists on at least one open question for each part of the program, which are of equal importance.
In case of an excellent knowledge and a high level of problem-solving capacity the candidate may earn the highest grade with “cum laude” honor.
Students attending classes and Erasmus students may write a paper on specific topics, which will be evaluated and will replace one or more parts of the final exam, depending on the topics chosen.
