Learning objectives
Know some aspects of the linguistic phenomenology of the Amerindian languages and in particular of the Aztec language (Nahuatl)
Prerequisites and basic notions
No particular prior knowledge is required, although a knowledge of the fundamentals of general and comparative linguistics can be useful

Learning assessment procedures
Interview on notions with guided reading of texts. In addition, a brief, relevant and independent bibliographic search is required on one or more of the topics introduced. It is possible for those who wish to add the presentation of a written thesis or a report of no more than 10 minutes during the exam.
Evaluation criteria
The interview verifies how the student has acquired the basic notions of Native American glottology introduced in the lessons, how he is able to orient himself in reading passages (with the help of teachers), how he is able to compare the specific categories of American Indian languages with those of the Indo-European languages. The student will have to pay attention to language properties and technical terminology.
