Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes
The course aims to give students an understanding of the main events of Italian and European history in the years between the Great War and the collapse of communism. It is focused on European political, cultural and social history, which is analyzed from a comparative and transnational perspective. At the end of the course the student must be able to: a) identify the periodizations connected to the different historical periods, b) know the most important events of the different periods connected both to the European contest and to the single national cases; c) be familiar with the most important political cultures, the economic processes and the social transformations that mark the historical phases considered, d) use in a critical way the different historiographic interpretations.

Examination Methods
Examination procedure
1. Assessment methods: structured written exam in open and closed questions.
2. Objectives: to verify the ability to describe historical concepts using appropriate terminology, the ability to link events and to place them adequately within the individual national contexts and the knowledge of the different historiographic interpretations of the most relevant historical processes.
3. Contents: the questions will focus on the topics covered during the course and developed in the volumes indicated in the bibliography.
4. Assessment method: score expressed in thirtieths, resulting from the sum of the attribute points for each of the questions.
The degree program regulations require students to have successfully completed the introductory module: students cannot, therefore, attend module P without having passed module I.
Students are not advised to cover both module I and the module P in the same exam session.

Erasmus students (and students hosted with other international mobility programs) who attend classes, can choose between these different options:
1. written exam (in Italian or in English).
2. oral exam (in Italian or in English, French or Spanish)
