Learning outcomes

The course aims to provide an overview on the epic romance of the Middle Ages. Once discussed the general problems regarding the origins and genre of the 'chansons de geste', the course will focus on some of the major epic texts of the French and Iberian area (reading, translation, analysis of a selection of passages).
