CONTAMINATION LAB 

The Contamination Lab Verona (CLab Verona) is an experiential course with modules on innovation and enterprise culture that offers the opportunity to work in teams with students from all areas to solve challenges set by companies and organisations.  

Upon completion of a CLab, students will be entitled to receive 6 CFU (D- or F-type credits).

PLEASE NOTE: In order to be admitted to any teaching activities, including those of your choice, you must be enrolled in the academic year in which the activities in question are offered. Students who are about to graduate in the December and April sessions are therefore advised NOT to undertake extracurricular activities in the new academic year in which they are not enrolled, as these graduation sessions are valid for students enrolled in the previous academic year. Therefore, students who undertake an activity in an academic year in which they are not enrolled will not be granted CFU credits.

Italian Literature and Philosophy
The course of Italian Literature and Philosophy aims to investigate the relationship between the national literary tradition – framed within its European context – and Western philosophical thought by focusing on the analysis of an author, a specific period or a theme.
The course will provide students with:
- knowledge of the fundamental lines of the history of Western thought, until the contemporary age;
- ability to contextualize, understand and comment on a literary text, constantly comparing it with the philosophical text and with other domains of Western culture (anthropology, psychology, mythic-symbolic thought);
- familiarity with the Italian literary tradition and its main thematic and formal traits, from the origins to the present day, with particular attention to the intersections between literature and philosophical tradition;
- capability of autonomous judgement on specific cultural questions;
- awareness of the capability of aesthetic experience to understand and transform the world we live in;
- improvement of linguistic skills.

Prerequisites and basic notions

Basic knowledge of the Western literary tradition

Program

"I is another": the construction of identity in contemporary poetry
What is the "self"? When is the modern "identity" formed? And how does poetry think about the subject and its identity, its relation to external reality and history? This course will attempt to rough out a portrait of the "I" as seen by poetry, involving a range of great names in modern and contemporary lyric poetry: from Friedrich Hölderlin to Giacomo Leopardi, from Arthur Rimbaud to Andrea Zanzotto.
Attending students will prepare the material indicated in the "Attending-students texts" section of the bibliography and the material published on the Moodle platform. Further bibliography will be indicated in class if necessary.
***NB. For attending students only, an OPTIONAL IN ITINERE TEST is scheduled halfway through the course, relating to the first part of the program. Students who take it and pass it will take only the second part of the program for the exam.
Non-attending students will prepare only the material of the section "Texts for non-attending students", prepared especially for them.

Didactic methods

Face-to-face lectures, with ample space dedicated to the discussion and intervention of students.
Lectures by invitation and seminar lessonsare are provided.

Learning assessment procedures

The exam is oral and is intended to ascertain the knowledge of the topics covered during the course and the ability to analyze and interpret the texts.

Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must follow the instructions given HERE

Evaluation criteria

1) verification of knowledge of the texts;
2) verification of the knowledge of the critical bibliography;
3) assessment of the ability to argue, to compare texts, to rework and interpret the main topics of the course

Criteria for the composition of the final grade

The vote is expressed out of thirty on the basis of knowledge, the effectiveness and clarity of the answers, the property of language.
