Learning objectives
The course aims to introduce a key concept in the current philosophical debate: it will address the concept of subject as it has been formulated by modernity, dwell on some moments and aspects of its twentieth-century deconstruction, and will insist on the proposals for a sort of reconstruction of this category, which contemporary philosophy has articulated in different perspectives, all related to the idea of a process of subjectification and a field of experience. By the end of the course, the student will have acquired a precise knowledge of the theories and authors presented, of the ethical stakes of these theories and philosophical options, of the philosophical arguments that underpin them, and of the ethical perspectives that they open up. By the end of the course, the student will have acquired the ability to discuss the themes, theories and authors studied using specific terminology and an appropriate argumentative style; he or she will also have developed his or her own argumentative autonomy and ability to independently rework and reformulate the themes and problems encountered.
