Learning outcomes

The course is focusing to highlight the relations and the differences between Art and Reality and Realism and Fiction.
Particular attention will be given at the time of Postmodernity, also interpreted as a result of theoretical proposals related to the “School of Suspicion”.

Program

Contents:
The first part turns most to theory and involves the “historical” ideas, on which these relations lean: Language, Aesthetics, Form, Metaphor, across which developed arts and its articulations.

The second part looks at the aesthetical reading of some meaningful “film text” compared with some view arts that, in the XX century, followed the main ideas of the artistic dimension.
A specific chapter will be dedicated at the theme of Surrealism and its influence in the painting and film.
The combination of the two parts highlights both the articulation between form and scripture and the influences that the several “time forms” had on the several arts.
