Type D and Type F activities
This information is intended exclusively for students already enrolled in this course.If you are a new student interested in enrolling, you can find information about the course of study on the course page:

As part of the academic plans for each degree program, students must earn a specified number of credits from the Type D and F (CFUs D and F) categories.
CFUs D (student's choice activities)
CFUs D can be earned through various activities, including:
- Elective courses: non-mandatory courses within your plan of study, subject to the approval of the Chair of the Teaching Committee the course cannot be selected independently.
- Accredited activities: activities accredited by the Teaching Committee
- Language Proficiency: acquiring proficiency in languages different from or additional to the required ones.
- Internships or apprenticeships: practical work experience in relevant fields
- TALCs (Transversal Skills): skills gained through specific university programs.
The total number of CFUs D is calculated over the entire degree period (two or three years) and is not tied to a single academic year.

Contamination Lab
The Contamination Lab Verona (CLab Verona) is an experiential learning program focused on innovation and business culture. It offers students the opportunity to collaborate in teams across different programmes and disciplines to solve challenges posed private companies and institutions. Completing this pathway earns students 6 CFUs D. Learn more about the CLab challenges here.
Important Notes:
- To be eligible for any credit-bearing learning activities, including electives, students must be enrolled in the academic year during which the activities are offered.
- GRADUATING SENIORS: Students who plan to graduate in the November or March/April sessions are advised NOT to undertake extracurricular activities in a new academic year (in which they are not enrolled), as these graduation sessions correspond to the previous academic year. Activities completed during an academic year in which students is not enrolled will not be credited with CFUs.
CFUs F (other training activities)
CFUs F typically relate to skills in computing and languages, internships and apprenticeships, and other educational activities accredited by the Teaching Committee.
The degree program in Languages and Cultures for Tourism and International Commerce recognizes the following:
- 3 CFUs for a third language (B1 level)
- 3 CFUs for computer skills
- 6 CFUs for a mandatory internship.
Computer skills can be acquired by:
- Passing the test in the University's computer labs.
- Attending and passing the final exams for courses offered by schools and centres accredited by AICA (Italian Association for Computer Science and Automatic Computing) or courses recognized by the Province and Region. Applications for the recognition of previously acquired computer skills are reviewed by the Commission for the Recognition of Computer Skills.
Internship are designed to provide students with direct, practical knowledge and experience relevant to their field of study, helping them acquire specific professional skills.

Learning objectives
Aim of the course is transmitting fundamental knowledge on Italian language and its variability: oral and written Language, specific scientific Languages, different textual typologies. Textual competence and abilities on writing will be improved by practice of analysis and production. Student will be able to recognize variability of Italian Language in time, space, medium, context and register, also in relation to learning of foreigner languages; moreover, student will be able to analyze texts in Italian Language and assing them to different textual typologies.
Prerequisites and basic notions
Excellent knowledge of the Italian language and its grammatical and syntactic structures. Contact the University Language Center (CLA) for any information regarding language courses where necessary.
Program
The course is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part, aimed at strengthening the students' writing skills. 1. Elements of Italian linguistics: standard Italian and varieties of Italian; written and spoken Italian; sectoral languages; specific registers of sectoral languages. 2. Writing in Italian at university: elements of textual linguistics; coherence and cohesion; textual typologies; syntactic structures and lexical resources appropriate to the individual text typologies. 3. Elements of Italian grammar: uses of the verb; connectives; punctuation. 4. Textual analysis and production exercises: the summary; the e-mail. Materials prepared or selected by the teacher (e.g. slides, exercises, bibliographical supplements) will be made available on the Moodle platform. These materials are an integral part of the exam program, for attending and non-attending students. NB: Students of the Italian language courses are bound to their chair, assigned based on the initial of their surname (AE, FO, or PZ). It is not possible to move from one chair to another and you are required to take the exam with the assigned teacher.

Didactic methods
Frontal lessons in the classroom (in-person mode) and individual exercises, on a voluntary basis. Non-attending students must prepare the same material as attending students for the exam, which is the same for everyone (mandatory manuals in adoption and slides of the lessons uploaded on the Moodle platform of the course). Teaching support methods: The supplementary and support teaching materials will be uploaded on the Moodle platform of the course. Students are invited to contact the teacher by email or during office hours (Thursday, 15:40-16:40 by appointment). Students who find themselves in the position of having to recover missed lessons must contact the teacher.
Learning assessment procedures
Exam format The exam will be written. It will be divided into three parts: 1. structured section, with questions on theoretical topics; 2. practical exercises to complete (on the use of verbs, connectives and punctuation); 3. production of short written texts, belonging to the typologies covered in class. There is no differentiated test for non-attending students. Exam duration: 1 h 30 mins
Evaluation criteria
The exam aims to verify the acquisition of some fundamental notions of Italian linguistics and evaluate the students' writing skills according to the criteria of formal correctness, effectiveness, relevance, and correspondence to the context.
