As part of the academic plans for each degree program, students must earn a specified number of credits from the Type D and F (CFUs D and F) categories.

CFUs D (student's choice activities)

CFUs D can be earned through various activities, including:

  • Elective courses: non-mandatory courses within your plan of study, subject to the approval of the Chair of the Teaching Committee the course cannot be selected independently.
  • Accredited activities: activities accredited by the Teaching Committee

The total number of CFUs D is calculated over the entire degree period (two or three years) and is not tied to a single academic year.

B1 certificates obtained after 1st October 2024 are valid for two years.

The module will offer an overview of the spread of the Spanish language and related issues; it will also provide the basic tools for analysing the main mechanisms of current Spanish, according to a contrastive (Italian/Spanish) approach.
Main topics:

– Linguistic tools: an introduction to Spanish dictionaries and grammars;

Methods of teaching support:
Guidelines and teaching materials will be uploaded in the Moodle platform of the module. In addition, a specific tutoring service will be activated for the module of “Lingua spagnola 1” (details will be explained in class and on the Moodle platform). Moreover, the lecturer is available during his office hours, which can also be arranged via ZOOM if necessary.
Finally, specific support and tutoring activities are available for inclusion and accessibility, with regard to the Language/Literature courses. More information will be available on the Department's webpage.

Learning assessment procedures

A 60-minute test will be administered in Spanish, but as it is the 1st year exam, students may answer in Italian. It will consist of ‘open-ended’ questions, short-answer and multiple-choice questions and exercises. Some questions will require metalinguistic reflection and the ability to identify linguistic phenomena, as well as to propose examples of the same.
Subjects to be tested:
(a) For students who attend the lectures continuously, the test will focus on the aspects covered during the course, the teaching materials, and the bibliography for attending students.
b) For all others, the test will focus on the bibliography and teaching materials for non-attending students (see also Moodle platform).
All students, and in particular non-attending students, are invited to submit their doubts to the lecturers during office hours.
Erasmus students should contact the coordinator of the module at the beginning of the course for clarification.
The programme indicated in the syllabus will be valid for examination purposes until the Winter session 2026 (Jan/Feb) included.

Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must follow the instructions given HERE

Evaluation criteria

Breadth and depth of knowledge gained on the topics and the compulsory bibliography; language property and terminological precision; ability to connect acquired knowledge in a systemic form.

Criteria for the composition of the final grade
