Module: METODI DELLA RICERCA SOCIALE

This course will introduce students to research methods and techniques of social research that can be applied to the typical subjects of social work.
Its main objectives are the following:
a)learning the basic language of research methodology;
b)developing capabilities of interpreting data produced by social research;
c)experimenting how to conduct one or more phases of an empirical study.
The course will provide the student with a wide perspective on research-making which, though not including all issues of the state of the art, will span over the most important problems that are of concern of the methodological debate.

Through an analysis of the fundamental sociological concepts and the work of some classic (Tocqueville Durkheim, Weber) and modern authors (Parsons, Goffman), the course aims at describing the main theoretical problems faced by sociology
