Learning outcomes
The course in Community Psychology will introduce the students to the specific analytical perspective of such a discipline, working within the general framework of Dynamic Psychology, but also employing the main concepts presented in the course of Social Psychology. Community Psychology looks at the sources of well-being, shifting the focus from an individualistic perspective and investigating instead its collective dimension. The focus will be on the relationships between people (especially between the social worker and the service user) and between people and the contexts they live in. Students will study the importance of a sense of community, the concept of participation and community empowerment for individual and social changes. It will be demonstrated how community work can deal with psycho-social problems and develop individual resources in relationship settings. Theoretical principles that guide social workers will be discussed during the lessons.

Examination Methods
Written exam with two open questions. The aim of these questions is to assess the students’ knowledge of the subjects described in the books/chapters listed in the syllabus. The final mark of the exam entitled “Psicologia Sociale e di Comunità” will be the mean score of the evaluations of the student’s responses to four questions (two on the subjects of the module of Social Psychology and two on the module of Community Psychology) expressed in thirtieths. The student must achieve a pass in both modules in the exam. The assessment methods and criteria will be the same for attending and non-attending students.
