Laurea in Scienze dell'educazione - Enrollment from 2025/2026

I 12 crediti liberi a scelta dello studente (ambito “D”) hanno lo scopo di offrire allo studente la possibilità di personalizzare il proprio percorso formativo permettendo di approfondire uno o più argomenti di particolare interesse legati al proprio percorso accademico.
Per garantire questo fine, si invitano gli studenti a rispettare le seguenti indicazioni per il completamento di tale ambito:

  •  almeno un’attività formativa erogata come esame universitario (con relativo voto in trentesimi) - è possibile scegliere fra i vari insegnamenti del proprio CdS non sostenuti in precedenza, anche quelli dell'altro curriculum, fra i vari insegnamenti degli altri CdS di I° livello afferenti al Dipartimento di Scienze Umane ed anche fra i vari insegnamenti dei CdS di I° livello ad accesso libero erogati dall'Ateneo di Verona;
  • massimo 6 cfu relativi a competenze linguistiche (oltre a quelli previsti dal PdS);
  • massimo 6 cfu relativi a competenze informatiche (oltre a quelli previsti dal PdS);
  • massimo 4 cfu di tirocinio, (oltre a quelli previsti dal PdS); 
  • massimo 6 cfu di attività laboratoriale/esercitazioni (compresi quelli previsti nei PdS per l’ambito) di regola viene riconosciuto 1 cfu ogni 25 ore di attività; 
  • massimo 6 cfu di attività seminariale/convegni/cicli di incontri/formative in genere (sia accreditata dal Dipartimento di Scienze Umane che extrauniversitaria) – di regola viene riconosciuto 1 cfu ogni 8 ore di partecipazione e/o 2 giornate salvo diversamente deliberato;
  • non vengono valutate attività svolte in Erasmus non inserite nei Learning Agreement.

Learning objectives

Knowledge and understanding 1. To know the main educational models present in the history of childhood in general and in particular in the history of early childhood in the twentieth century. 2. To understand the pedagogical meaning of the evolution of educational practices related to early childhood, with particular regard to the importance of the way adult figures relate to children. 3. To know and understand the meaning of the historical-pedagogical process of recognition of the rights of children. Applying knowledge and understanding 1. Knowing how to analyze the social consideration of childhood and its experience in different historical moments, capturing in the evolution of pedagogical thought one of the factors of the progressive deepening of the meaning of education from the first months and years of life. 2. Knowing how to identify the care needs of very young children in particular historical moments and knowing how to reflect on these needs in the light of the children's way of life in the current context. 3. To re-read the texts of authors, modern and contemporary, concerning early childhood and to be able to identify and comment on their thinking to verify its value for the contemporary time.

Prerequisites and basic notions

Knowledge of the essential lines of the development of the history of pedagogy and of the evolution of pedagogical reflection

Program

- Main pedagogical theories on childhood from the historical educational point of view.
- Historical development lines regarding the infantile condition and its interpretation, in the Italian and European social cultural context, also in relation to the rights of the child, from the classical world to the twentieth century with particular attention to female education and the life of girls .
- Authors of the twentieth century who were interested in childhood education.

- Frontal lessons
- Possible in-depth seminars agreed with the involvement of the attending students

Learning assessment procedures

31 multiple choice closed questions (= 4) on the key issues of the program related to the texts in the program. Each correct answer corresponds to a point.
There is no difference in the examination procedure for attending and non-attending students.
However, attendance is recommended.

Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must follow the instructions given HERE

Evaluation criteria

The questions proposed are aimed at verifying the acquisition of the essential contents of the program, the ability of historical contextualization, the knowledge of the educational lines of the main authors considered and the educational problems faced in the study.

Criteria for the composition of the final grade

Each correct answer of the 31 questions corresponds to a point; the sum corresponds to the final grade.
