Learning outcomes
Aim of the course is to have students understand and become fluent in methods and techniques employed to model optimisation problem arising in practical applications, and in different disciplines. To this aim, several techniques and methodologies will be discussed and also tested, on examples and scenarios also taken from the industrial world. The students will be able to design and implement mathematical models for the management of production facilities, networks and services; and to assess their computational limits, and quantifying efficiency and applicability in real contexts. The students will acquire high level technical and professional competence to tackle modelling and computational tasks in labs, research centres and industrial contexts.
