Learning objectives
The main aim of the course is providing students with theoretical foundations of Information Systems design and management, and of Business Processes modeling and management. In particular, techniques for decision support system design and multidimensional data analysis tools will be described, as well as business process modeling and reengineering techniques. At the end of the course the student will be able to master knowledge and skills about organizational and management aspects, needed to manage information systems in the business context, and to manage business processes, and to understand system requirements and communicate appropriately with stakeholders for development and management of an Information System and of a Business Process Management System. In particular, the student will be able to design and manage a decision support system, analyse multidimensional data, and model and analyse business processes. She will also be able to autonomously continue studies in the Information Systems field.

Evaluation criteria
To pass the exam, the students must show that:
- they have understood the concepts related to information systems, business processes, and data warehouse systems;
- they are able to describe the concepts in a clear and exhaustive way;
- they are able to apply the acquired knowledge to solve application problems described by means of questions and exercises.
