The Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics offers a study program, which is original at national level and unique in Northeast Italy. After having provided a solid basic preparation in the various mathematical disciplines (algebra, mathematical analysis, geometry, computational mathematics and probability), the course also explores applied areas of mathematics in the two possible curricula: economic-financial and modeling-computational.
The lessons are enriched by numerous laboratory activities and by the possibility of attending company internships. Support actions are provided for students unable to attend classes in person (such as sharing of teaching materials, video lectures, etc.). Students also have the opportunity to carry out study experiences and internships abroad thanks to international mobility programs.
The course of study promotes the acquisition of transversal skills aimed at the most complete training of the student and usable for the subsequent path of job placement, recognizing an adequate number of university credits (ECTS) to those who follow with profit the courses specifically offered by the University or other institutions.
The course prepares graduates to attend Master's Degrees both in Italy and abroad in the fields of mathematics, informatics, statistics and economics. It also allows graduates to enter the working world in all high-tech and scientific production sectors or in the world of finance. For example, but not only, in financial institutions, insurance companies, research and development sectors of companies and industries.
The mathematical education, characterized by logical rigor, also allows the graduate to enter the job market in the computer science field by being able to quickly acquire the specific skills that are required.
