Learning outcomes
OBJECTIVES
• The course aims to provide the student with basic knowledge and understanding on the subject of prevention, protection and promotion and management of health and safety in the workplace
• The student will acquire, also through examples taken from the field, basic knowledge and understanding of the general principles of occupational medicine, risk assessment, health surveillance, suitability judgment, specific legislation, health education, primary, secondary and tertiary prevention, with reference to different types of occupational risk (for example, chemical, physical, biological, ergonomic, organizational and psychosocial, accident).
• Attention will be dedicated to making the student acquire knowledge and understanding about the prerogatives and roles of the various figures and structures responsible for prevention in the workplace and the awareness that in the profession of nurses, there is the opportunity to exercise forms of health education on the assisted persons also on health and safety issues in the workplace, especially in health facilities.

2) National laws, rules and regulations on prevention, health and safety in the workplace
3) Occupational health and safety professionals and institutions
4) Occupational hazards and risks. Work-related diseases. Occupational injuries
5) Risk assessment. Health surveillance. Fitness for work. Medico-legal obligations.
6) Occupational Health for health care workers. Risk factors: chemicals, biological agents, ergonomics, organizational and psychosocial.
