Educational and rehabilitative care approach to patients undergoing cardiac, thoracic and esophagus-stomach surgery.
Care approach to patients undergoing thoracic and cardiac surgery and esophagostomachology. Preoperative phase. Main surgical interventions. Notes on the intraoperative phase. Post-operative and rehabilitation phase.
The cardiothoracic patient operated on day zero: head and foot examination and management of the devices. Monitoring. Drugs in infusion and pharmacological compatibility. Notes on possible haemodynamic support devices (aortic counterpulsator - IAPB - and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation - ECMO)
Post-operative phase; complications and healthcare problems. Education and rehabilitation. Anticoagulant therapy
Management of the patient with blood transfusion.
Transfusion of blood and blood components: purposes, management of the patient during the various phases. Nurse and doctor collaboration. Adverse reactions.
Management of chest drainage.
The drainage system with water valve. Thoracentesis
