Program
The course consists of 15 hours of lectures covering the following topics:
Principles and methods of the Emergency System
Primary and secondary assessment of the emergency patient
Indicators of instability and recovery of stability in critical patients
Triage: principles, criteria, and codes to define emergency priorities
Emotional reactions and principles of communication with the patient
Approach to the polytraumatized patient and Triage: ABCDE with particular attention to airway management, immobilization, and transport
Wounds and techniques for controlling external hemorrhage

The exam consists of 10 multiple-choice questions that, together with the questions from other professors, contribute to the final grade.
Evaluation criteria
The student will be assessed on the content presented in class with questions focused on knowledge, reasoning, and clinical case solutions.
