Learning outcomes

The student will aquire:
• the ability to understand the signs and symptoms of a critical situation in order to conduct a targeted assessment and deduce the patient's problems
• the criteria of instability or evolution of the clinical situation
• the ability to deduce the diagnostic / therapeutic, pharmacological and targeted assistance and support options
• the capacity to identify the needs of the family and the patients in critical situations
• the capacity to manage the relationship with the patients and the patients's family
• the ability to identify the clinical manifestations of the main complications that may appear in the intra and post-operative phase and the prevention criteria

Program

In particular, the module will deal with:
- The intra and extra hospital emergency system: principles, organizational methods, triage systems.
- The intra and extra hospital triage: Definition, evolution of the Italian model, international models. Methods and tools of intra and extra hospital triage.
- Management of the traumatized patient: Primary and secondary survey
- First aid interventions in the living, working and leisure environment. (burns, thunderbolt, viper bite and insect bites, drowning, seizure and syncope)

Examination Methods

The exam will take place in written form with multiple choice questions or short open answers.
