Program
Approach to a patient with severe abdomen’s pain:
• acute abdomen;
• splenic and haepatic trauma;
• pancreatitis;
• peritonitis;
• bowel obstruction.
Etiology, Diagnostic and surgical approach to:
• esophageal pathology;
• pulmonary pathology;
• pleural pathology;
• thoracic trauma;
• sever gastrointestinal hemorrhage.

Didactic methods
The teaching consists of lectures using slides, videos and clinical case simulations.
Learning assessment procedures
Written exam consisting of twenty multiple choice questions and two open-ended questions lasting one hour.
Evaluation criteria
Multiple choice questions will assess the knowledge acquired during the lessons, while open questions will assess the ability to reason and apply to simulated clinical situations. The student will pass the test by reaching a minimum score of 18/30.
