Diagnostic and therapeutic approach to the patient with septic shock, hypovolemic S., cardiogenic S., anaphylactic S., neurogenic S. Acute respiratory failure, ARDS, blood gas alterations (respiratory and metabolic acidosis and alkalosis) Coma state: treatment strategies with particular attention to therapeutic hypothermia Head trauma: clinical picture, severity levels, physiopathological effects Problems and evidence-based approach of the critical patient: risk of infections, natural feeding (EN, PEG) or parenteral. Early mobilization and ICUAW-acquired weakness in intensive care Communication with the family and patient in the critical phase
