Clinical findings and surgical treatment in complex situations of emergency
Epidemiological relevance, risk factors and prognostic factors, clinical symptoms and diagnosis pathway.

Self-study (2 hours at the beginning and 1 hour at the end of the course), frontal and interactive lecture, powerpoint presentation, discussion of clinical cases, explanation of surgical techniques with video
Learning assessment procedures
The examination is written. Each module of the Course offers multiple choice questions and open/short answer reasoning questions which provide for the acquisition of knowledge in clinical nursing in the vital criticality related to intra- and extra-hospital care in all its organisational contexts. The student demonstrates that he/she can identify and select suitable behaviours for the professional competences, declined by roles, in the management of care processes oriented to the implementation of the best-practice, based on safety standards of the patient and the operator, in the prevention of complications derived from the pathology and its treatment, in the use of medical devices and prescriptions, of medical diagnostic order.
The final result is considered to be positive if at least 18/30ths are passed.
Evaluation criteria
Written examination with closed multiple choice and/or open short answer questions for knowledge and decision making. Clinical cases are proposed to stimulate critical thinking, to test knowledge/study understanding of the topics and the ability to identify/describe care management through nursing and multi-professional interventions
