Factors and phenomena of childbirth.
Obstetric physical examination (external and vaginal)
Labor (latent phase and active phase of first and second stage):
Definition, diagnosis, timing. Midwifery care needs and interventions; maternal and fetal surveillance
Pain in labor (physiology). Management and methods of pharmacological and non-pharmacological containment; emotional support in labor.
Woman centered care model: obstetric care needs and interventions (according to guidelines OMS Nice and Queensland.
Third and fourth stages of labor: definition, diagnosis, timing. Obstetric care and interventions

Learning assessment procedures
The exam includes an oral interview, aimed to evaluate: breadth and depth of the acquired knowledge, ability to connect knowledge, analytical and argumentative skills, ability to apply theoretical knowledge in care situations / proposed clinical cases, scientific language properties
Evaluation criteria
The score obtained will be calculated through the weighted average of all the teaching modules, written exam and oral exam; honors will be awarded to students who have obtained the maximum score in the written test and have demonstrated completeness and in-depth analysis and judgment skills during the oral interview.
