Learning outcomes

Understanding the meaning of the re-habilitation in infants and adolescents.
Learning the child physiological development in its psychological, psychomotor and relational components.
Knowing how to identify the constructs of development analysing the child’s behavior.
Understanding the role of the pediatric rehabilitation team and other network resources involved in the child care process.
Knowing the "Family Centered Care", understanding the current panorama of multicultural families, the foreign child and the adopted child.

Program

The child rehabilitation. The topics: care, taking care, rehabilitation, habilitation, psychomotricity. The documents: “Manifesto per la Riabilitazione del bambino”, “ICF-CY” and “Linee Guida per le attività di Riabilitazione”. The biopsychosocial approach: meaning, analysis of the roles of the resources involved (child-rehabilitation team-family-school-social contest) and references (law 104/92, definition DF, PDF and PEI). The "Family Centered Care" approach: definition, history and principles, and its feasibility in pediatric rehabilitation. Focus: multicultural families, the foreign child and the adopted child.
The development 0-6 years - basic principles: "neotenia", evolutionary concepts, the psychological birth.
Psychomotor development: motricity, body schema, tone, motor project, space-time organization, laterality, graphism, language (definition, structuring, evaluation).
The rehabilitation setting.
Observation of the child: observing moment and examination moment.
