Introduction to microbiology: classification of microorganisms. Notes on fungi and protozoa. Bacteriology: Characteristics of the bacterial cell, structure and function. The spores: characteristics and diffusion. Bacterial replication. Pathogenic mechanisms. Hints of special bacteriology. Virology: Characteristics, structure and classification of viruses.
