Learning outcomes
The module introduces the student to the health services organization, throughout the principles and models underling their management.
The course focuses on National and Regional Health Service knowledge, into their functional and organizational articulations. The regulatory evolution is presented in relation to epidemiological transition and national socio-economic framework. Health system different models and related patient and professional’s involvement will be analyzed and compared.

• Epidemiological transition and regulatory evolution of the Italian health system in relation to different institutional models
• Establishment of the National Health Service (NHS), related reforms, business process and regionalization
• Institutional and organizational structure of the NHS in the provision of Essential Levels of Care (LEA)
• The care networks, the hospital-primary care relationship and the principles of socio-health integration
• Quality and Clinical Governance
