Learning outcomes

Provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for understanding diagnostic and therapeutic ENT procedures.
At the lessons' conclusion, students will acquire both pathophysiological and clinical basic knowledge of ENT diseases and rudiments of ENT methodology and therapy, especially concerning diseases of urgency.
Finally, students will be experienced in the main daily surgical ENT procedures.

Program

- Ear anatomy and physiology. Otoscopic and otoendoscopic procedures. Hearing loss classification. Functional diagnostics: objective and sobjective audiometry. Child audiometry.

- Outer and middle ear diseases. Otosurgery.

- Acoustic neuroma.

- Paranasal sinuses anatomy and physiology. Nose and sinuses inflammatory disease. Benign and malignant tumors of paranasal sinuses.

- Larynx anatomy and physiology. Benign and malignant diseases. Larynx surgical procedures: vocal cord cordectomy, reconstructive and total laryngectomy.

- Salivary glands anatomy and physiology. Inflammatory and tumoral diseases. Surgical procedures.

- Neck anatomy. Neck masses' diagnostics. Lateral-cervical lymph nodes draining.

- Dyspnea. Tracheotomy.

Examination Methods

The course program topics will be argued in class, during front lessons. Clinical and practical implications will be underlined.
The last exam will be an oral exam.
