MODULE ANGIOLOGY,VASCULAR DIAGNOSTICS AND TRANSFUSIONAL MEDICINE Educational objectives: Learn to recognize the distinctive elements of acute and chronic ischemic heart disease; acquire basic knowledge of cardiovascular risk factors, the genesis of atherosclerosis, and the basic concepts of primary and secondary cardiovascular prevention. Learn about the special elements of acute and chronic heart failure and indications for cardiac transplantation and LVAD. Gain knowledge regarding the management of the "blood resource." MODULE METHODS AND TECHNIQUES OF VASCULAR DIAGNOSTICS:Illustrate the methods of endovascular diagnostics and interventional procedures in general cardiovascular diseases MODULE INVASIVE AND VASCULAR SURGICAL TECHNIQUES:The objective of the course is to provide the basic elements on the main diseases involving9 the arteries and veins, giving details on the surgical and endovascular treatment of these affections. BLOOD DISEASES AND TRANSFUSIONAL MEDICINE MODULE The objective of the module is to provide the student with theoretical knowledge with respect to blood management with reference to perioperative hematorecovery techniques, plasmapheresis and therapeutic apheresis, production and application of platelet gel and fibrin glue. MODULE SURGICAL AND RADIOLOGICAL ANATOMY OF THE CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM: Provide the basic knowledge for understanding the surgical and radiological anatomy of the cardiovascular system through different imaging modalities, with a particular focus on Computed Tomography (CT). Analyse and identify the main pathologies of the cardiovascular system, particularly those concenrinig the heart and thoracic aorta. Provide basic skills for the use of radiological images in the surgical planning of heart and thoracic aorta procedures.
