Program
Interazione aria-acqua: dissoluzione dei gas. Equilibri acido-base del sistema H2O-CO2, acidità ed alcalinità.
Interazione acqua-suolo (eqilibri di solubilità, ossidoriduzione e complessazione) salinità, durezza, ferro e manganese, metalli in tracce.
Destino degli organici in ambiente: ripartizione e biodegradazione. Inquinamento organico (BOD, COD, TOC, azoto e fosforo).
Composizione chimica e reattività fotochimica dell’atmosfera. Ozono stratosferico e buco dell’ozono.
Fonti energetiche, processi di combustione e inquinamento
Inquinamento da combustione : gas serra, NOx, SOx, particellato, precipitazioni acide, VOC, smog fotochimico
Principali proprietà ambientali del suolo: suolo organico e suolo inorganico
Sorgenti di contaminazione del suolo, natura chimica dei contaminanti ed interazioni con acqua ed atmosfera.

Learning assessment procedures
The exam consists of a written test containing 20 multiple choice questions two open-ended questions
Evaluation criteria
50% of the final mark – Understanding of fundamentals of environmental chemistry
25% of the final mark – Capability to use a suitable language
30% of the final mark – Capability to define the key aspects of a real environmental chemistry issue
