Learning objectives
[Traduzione automatica – automatic translation] Objective of the course to provide students with the main regulatory elements that characterize Legislative Decree 03.04.2006, N 152/06 in order to identify the main elements on which the environmental legislation is based with particular reference to authorizing measures, the protection of waters and soil as well as the regulatory and technical bases related to waste management. At the end of the course the student must be able to identify the reference regulatory context and make a first assessment of the situations found, thus identifying the main critical points on which to implement the monitoring and prevention actions.

Strategic environmental assessment (VAS), environmental impact assessment (VIA) and integrated environmental authorization (IPPC) procedures. Rules on soil protection and the fight against desertification, protection of water from pollution and management of water resources. Fundamental concepts in waste management, the subjects involved and main phases of recovery and disposal; basic elements for identifying critical issues and related prevention actions.

Didactic methods
Face-to-face lectures realized with the support of videoprojected slides and moments of active dialogue in order to fix the fundamental arguments and dissolve any perplexities and doubts that have emerged.
Learning assessment procedures
The exam is written and consists of a test of 25 multiple choice questions and 1 open-ended question. The student will have the opportunity to answer one of the four options provided for each multiple choice question. The test carried out by the students will last 45 minutes.
Evaluation criteria
1 point is awarded for each correct multiple answer given by the student. In the event of an omitted or incorrect answer by the student to the multiple choice question, 0 points are awarded. For the correct answer given by the student to the single open-ended question, 5 points will be awarded. In case of a partially complete answer, 2 points will be awarded. In case of incomplete answer, 1 point will be awarded. In case of wrong answer or omitted answer, 0 points will be awarded. The total mark for correct answers will be 30 points.
