Learning outcomes

General aim of the course is the acquisition of main knowledge about principles, methods and toools of primary,secundary and tertiary prevention in workplace; here we develop contents own of occupational medicine, and students can acquire scientific,managerial, technical and cultural basis, indispensable in various professional activities in the field of epidemiology, prevention, evaluation of individual and environmental risks, the recognition of occupational diseases , the environmental and biological monitoring of occupational risks, and work organization.

Program

Dusts and diseases related to them, according to their nature. Fibers and diseases related to them, according to their nature.
Allergic respiratory and skin occupational diseases: bronchial asthma, extrinsic allergic alveolitis. DIC and DAC: irritant dermatitis and allergic contact dermatitis and other dermatosis.Prevention measures.The work in shift and night shift. Limit Values of xenobiotes in workplace. Description of the main thresholds limits used in industrial hygiene biological limit values (the dose and effect indicators), and environmental (maximum, weighted, for short exposure, "technicians"). Noise, vibrations, and their effects on health. The microclimate in the workplace and its effect on health. Elements and metals: Ni, Cr, Hg,Co, Pb: their monitoring in the workplaceand their effects on health.Professional carcinogenesis.
