Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Program
The electromagnetic spectrum. Static magnetic fields. Extremely low frequencies. Radio frequencies and microwaves. Optical radiation. Ionizing radiations. Concepts of physics. Radiobiology and radiopathology. Biological effects on individuals exposed to various frequencies. Exposure limits for population and workers. Measuring instruments of the various frequencies. Carcinogenicity along the electromagnetic spectrum. Reference regulations. Concrete cases of exposure to the various frequencies of the electromagnetic spectrum. Exposure reduction mode.

Didactic methods
Frontal lessons with the use of slides.
Learning assessment procedures
Written exam with closed and open answers. The student must demonstrate that he has understood the theoretical notions, recognizing in the closed answers or exposing, in the open answers, the application cases proposed.
Evaluation criteria
Level of knowledge of the subject. Ability to transfer the notions learned in the cases proposed. Ability to exhibit with adequate technical language.
