Learning outcomes

The course will enable the students to gain the knowledge and the skills necessary to project, lead, manage and implement adapted physical activity programs, within the ecological and systemic bio-psycho-social frame, proposed by the ICF.

Program

• Historical background of the adapted sports in Italy and in the World;
• Classification instruments ICF-WHO;
• UN convection on the rights of persons with disabilities;
• The organization of sport for people with disabilities in Italy;
• Different types of disabilities;
• Paralympic disciplines for people with disabilities: physical, sensory, intellectual;
• Classification of the athlete with disability;
• Special Olympics: philosophy and activities;
• Sport and quality of life of persons with disabilities;
• Practical experience with wheel-chair athletes;
• Practical experience with Trail-Orienteering and adapted weight-lift;
• Practical experience for the implementation of adapted physical activity programs for people with visual impairment;
• Vision and analysis of videos: technical actions and didactics.
