Learning outcomes

Knowing the main tecniques applied for enhancing the motor performance through Motor Imagery and mental practice: the so called ide-omotor training.Applications on athletes, normal subjects and people affected by pathologies (ictus, Parkinsons, amputees immobilized). Knowing the most important test utilized for understanding and quantifying the ability to preprogram and anticipate actions.

Program

Mental practice and Motor Imagery: efficacy on motor performance. Applications considering: athletes and people affected by nuro-pathologies as well as amputees and people with limb immobilized. origin and internal neurophysiological mechanism underlying the internal action simulation. Action preplanning and action preparation: the Anticipatory Postural Adjustments (APA). Related applications. Apparatus used: Electromyography, force plates. Experience in the Lab.

Examination Methods

Written exam with the possibility for an extra oral exam ONLY in case of positive evaluation for the written part.
