Learning outcomes
Learn the most frequent alterations of the locomotor apparatus related to sports practice and traumatology in relation to sport.
Deepening of the sport-relate pathologies of the locomotor apparatus and rehabilitation with a view to improving the pathological state.
Program
General concepts of orthopedics and traumatology, with particular reference to sport. Functional anatomy of the main constituents of the locomotor system.
General classification of pathologies and injuries of the musculoskeletal system.
Clinical and instrumental examination, with particular attention to functional evaluations
Biomechanics. Various types of lameness
Traumatic injuries of the musculoskeletal system: bruises, wounds, sprains, dislocations and fractures. General concepts on fractures. Various types of fractures. Fractures from sports and in sports.
Main traumatic injuries of the pelvis, lower limb, upper limb, spine, with specific references to the etiopathogenesis, rehabilitation-re-education, prevention and return to activities. In particular: ligament injuries of the knee, meniscal injuries, ligament injuries of the ankle, shoulder instability, rotator cuff injury
Tendinopathies: from sport-specific pathogenesis to return to the field. Main sites: rectus-adductor, patella, yarrow, pes anserinus, epicondylar, epitrochlear, De Quervain's disease, trigger finger.
Muscle injuries: epidemiology, etiopathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation-re-education and prevention. Main locations
(sural, quadriceps and hamstring twins)
Osteoarthritis: diagnostic therapeutic management. Main locations: hip, knee, ankle, shoulder, hand, spine
Main pathologies of the spine, upper limb and lower limb in the various age groups, with specific references to the etiopathogenesis, rehabilitation-re-education, prevention and return to activities. In particular: femoroacetabular impingement, Perthes' disease, epiphysiolysis, patellofemoral syndrome and patellar instability, chondral lesions and osteochondritis dissecans, Osgood Schlatter and Sinding Larsen Johansson syndrome, genu varus and valgus, ankle impingement, flat foot and hollow, hallux valgus, shoulder impingement syndrome, carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren's disease, discopathies, herniated disc, spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis, hunched back, scoliosis
Rehabilitation-re-education of the unstable and painful shoulder
Role of motor activity in the prevention and treatment of pathologies in children, adolescents, adults and the elderly.
