Learning outcomes
The course aims at deepening students' competence in the classification and interpretation of linguistic characters, literary and non literary texts. Knowledge of classic studies on the subject and reflexions on methodology. Publication of historico-linguistic documents. Fieldwork.

Course programme:
The course last 60 hourse. Contributions to Trentino linguistic history
a) ancient history until the early 16th century: spelling standardization in Trento Principality (Latin, German, Vulgar documents); Trentino early Vulgar, documentary, literary linguistic production; relations with Lombard and Veneto Vulgar traditions; polycentrism, plurilingualism
Didactic Methods: Lectures with text-analysis. Online material. Field-research papers.
