1. PhD students must obtain a specified number of CFUs each year by attending teaching activities offered by the PhD School.
First and second year students must obtain 8 CFUs. Teaching activities ex DM 226/2021 provide 5 CFUs; free choice activities provide 3 CFUs.
Third year students must obtain 4 CFUs. Teaching activities ex DM 226/2021 provide 2 CFUs; free choice activities provide 2 CFUs.

2. Registering for the courses is not required unless explicitly indicated; please consult the course information to verify whether registration is required or not. When registration is actually required, no confirmation e-mail will be sent after signing up. Prerequisiti e nozioni di base

Notes: 25 attendants for each module. Required English certification: C1 (Arts and Humanities), B2 (other Areas). It is extremely important to have the correct minimum level to be able to follow and participate in this course.
CFUs: 2.5 for each module
Required attendance: 10 classroom hours and 10 e-learning hours.

1) Grammar and vocabulary for academic writing 2) Structuring sentences and paragraphs 3) Levels of formality
Focus on language
1) Active/passive voice 2) Nominalisation and compounds 3) Simple/complex sentences
Focus on citation strategies
1) Direct quotations vs. paraphrasing 2) Avoiding plagiarism and linguistic strategies for paraphrasing
Focus on texts
1) Cohesion and coherence 2) Writer positioning in academic texts 3) Summary writing 4) Writing introductions
Focus on texts with practice and peer review
1) Abstracts 2) Academic bios 3) Writing practice and peer review
