Learning outcomes

GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
• Advanced theoric and technical-methodological knowledge, in particular about the analysis and understanding of the institutional context of the services
• Knowledge of the professional intervention methods about special and complex situations concerning the persons, families and groups
• Knowledges to plan, organize and value interventations inside the social policies

SKILL TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
• Skill to plan and carry out interventation of Social Work of high complexity
• Skill to interpret the different situations of unease and of promoting the welfare of the community
• Skill of analysis and decision making in the problems of the integration between social and health services
• Skill of decision making among complex situations.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
The objective of the course is to take-over methods, tools, strategies to evaluate the professional work of Social Work in the services, including the process and the effectiveness interventions evaluation. At the end of the course the students will be enabled to:
• understand the meaning and the methods to implement the professional evaluation,
• place it correctly inside the individual and community process of aid, with the innovative vewpoint of the generative welfare,
• know how to use the instruments of analysis, checking, measurement of suitable markers, that are indispensable to develop the professional evaluation.

Program

• The professional evaluation: meaning and porposes in the Social Work,
• ethic, deontologic and technical reasons of the professional evaluation,
• different types and technical conditions of the professional evaluation,
• the evaluation process anche the evaluation of the aid process,
• the outcome evaluation and the conditions of the effectiveness,
• method and tools of the evaluation: from the need assessement to the goal definition, and the outcome evaluation,
• the evaluation in the teamwork (interbranch and inter-organisational work),
• the evaluation with a generative view.

Examination Methods

The goals of the examination are:
• breadth and depth of the worket out knowledges,
• ability in connecting correctly the different knowledges,
• analytic and of reasoning ability.
The contents concern the theoric and methodologic knowledges, and the link with the practice of evaluation experienced in the practice on the field.
The examination consists in a talk directed to verify the contents of the program and the indicated texts understanding.
The mark is expressed in thirtieths.
