Program

The course aims to develop advanced skills in the field of qualitative, clinical-experimental and organizational research with declinations to socio-health contexts.
In a more focus way the teaching fosters, through the articulation of contents and using different teaching strategies, the student's ability to critically read research articles both to apply the results in clinical practice and to design studies using different approaches consistent with the defined objective.
The contents addressed in the different modules are:
• Epistemological foundations of qualitative research, paradigmatic, philosophical and methodological lines.
• The methods of qualitative research: observation, interview
• Reading and analysis of qualitative research applied to healthcare contexts
• Analysis of experimental, cohort and case control clinical studies, using epidemiology and statistical knowledge
• Interpretation of a survival analysis and a meta-analysis
• Concept of Health Service Nursing Research and research with complex variables
• Research fields in the organizational field
• Comparison between clinical research protocol and organizational research

Examination Methods

The exam aims to assess the ability to apply knowledge acquired.
Tests of different levels are used:
• written examination consisting of multiple choice and open-ended questions, interpretation questions applied to research articles
• oral examination for discussing a research study
The vote is awarded out of thirty. The exam is passed with a mark greater than or equal to 18/30 and allows to obtain a maximum mark of 30/30.
The award of honors is motivated by a high level of critical and argumentative ability
